Hitachi Excavator Repair
The function of Hitachi excavator gear oil and its maintenance
During the operation of the transmission device, the metal surface will peel off and produce fine metal powder. The gear oil can wash and deposit these metal powders in the reducer housing, and clean them when the gear oil is changed. Select gear oil from the manufacturers and brands recommended in the Operator's Manual. No other oil can be used in the transmission, such as hydraulic oil, engine oil, etc. Different types of gear oil mixed together will mutate due to different chemical compositions, different performances, and even chemical reactions. As a result, the above functions are lost. Due to reasons such as changing the gear oil grade or meteorological factors, when using different types of gear oil, you should carefully clean the reducer casing and then replace all the oil. It is best to use a gear oil whose viscosity is not affected by temperature changes, but when the temperature changes greatly due to the restriction of air temperature, it should be selected according to the air temperature. Check the liquid level of each transmission device with reference to the time interval of the "Operator's Manual". If the oil level is lower than the standard value, it should be replenished in time.
Insufficient gear oil will cause internal heat generation and premature wear of internal parts. Conversely, if the oil level is found to be higher than the standard value, stop the machine immediately and find out the cause. No matter how good the quality of gear oil, its performance can not always remain the same. During use, it will deteriorate due to overheating, or be contaminated by foreign objects. Gear oil deterioration (deterioration) will not only reduce performance, but organic acids or sludge generated by deterioration will also cause transmission corrosion and rust, and cause transmission components to malfunction. Therefore, in order to prevent the gear oil from being deteriorated and contaminated by the transmission, it is necessary to follow the oil change standard to keep the performance of the gear oil within a safe range. The equipment is parked on a level ground in accordance with standard stopping positions. Turn off the automatic idling switch and run the engine for 5 minutes at low speed idling speed. Turn off the engine, remove the key, and pull the pilot control lever to the LOCK position. Drain the oil into an empty tank after the gear oil has cooled and check for metal debris. This helps to detect faults early. Clean the gearbox carefully. When refueling, clean the refueling tools such as the filler port and oiler, and use a metal filter to avoid mixing with dust or water. The inspection and replenishment of oil quantity should be carried out on a flat site.
